FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Hanford woman is accused of leaving her baby in the car while she went grocery shopping.

Hanford police say 25-year-old Brittany Hogue claims she forgot about her 11-month-old inside of her car on Wednesday. The windows were rolled up and it was 102 degrees outside.

A customer walking out of the store heard crying coming from the car and was able to find an unlocked door and get the baby out.

Investigators believe the 11-month-old had been in the car for seven to eight minutes. The baby was red and sweating, but is expected to be okay.

Hogue was booked into jail on child abuse charges.
