FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. near the West Side Market at Elm and Grove. Witnesses say the 58-year-old victim was confronted by two men he knew. Apparently, they had an ongoing feud, which was the motive behind the shooting. The suspect shot the victim in the stomach and ran off.

Police say there were a lot of cars and people in the area when the shooting occurred. Detectives would like to talk to anyone who was in the area when the shots rang out.

"I'm pretty confident there were witnesses driving in vehicles. We'd like to find out what they saw, if anything," said Lt. Dave Ramos, Fresno Police Department.

The victim was last listed in critical but stable condition. Officers do not believe the shooting was gang-related.
