FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno police are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a car. It happened Saturday night on Nees Avenue near First Street in Northeast Fresno.
Police say the victim -- a 58-year-old man -- was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by a Dodge Challenger. The man was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say there was a power outage in the area at the time of the crash. The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police. Investigators are looking into whether drugs, alcohol or speed may have been factors in the crash.
