Multiple people shot in Merced County, detectives say

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Merced County sheriff's detectives say they are investigating after multiple people were shot midday Saturday.

Deputies responded to a residential housing development for a shots fired call. They have determined that the shooting is believed to have initially occurred at a home in Planada and continued on a nearby street.

"The investigation has yielded that multiple people have been shot," Sgt. Delray Shelton said in a news release.

No other details have been released.
