Orchard fire near Caruthers contained

FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno County Cal Fire crews have contained a fire that threatened several homes early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out after 2 a.m. Thursday near Mountain View Avenue and Willow Avenue, east of Caruthers. Cal Fire officials say it burned about two acres in an abandoned orchard. Several homes were threatened, but the fire was quickly contained.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
