KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Kerman man is dead after the semi-truck he was driving flipped over in Kings County on Sunday.

California Highway Patrol officers say the man in his late-50s was driving on Kansas Avenue near Highway 41 shortly after 11 a.m., when he veered off the roadway and then overcorrected. That caused the truck to roll over and end up on its side, blocking the lanes. The driver died from his injuries.

He was hauling milk, which weighed down the truck and made it difficult for crews to get the semi upright again. Another truck was called to pump out the milk.

The accident forced the closure of Kansas Avenue. The road later reopened.
