Small fire prompts evacuation of Roger Rocka's Dinner Theater in Central Fresno
A small fire at Roger Rocka's Dinner Theater added a little extra drama to the show on Saturday night.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A small fire at Roger Rocka's Dinner Theater added a little extra drama to the show on Saturday night. Nearly 200 people were forced to evacuate when a fire broke out in a water heater closet. They were watching a Valentine's Day performance of "Crazy for You" at the time.

Fresno firefighters say one of the actors put out the flames with a fire extinguisher, but everyone was ushered outside as a precaution.

"People when they go to see live theater they kind of like it when something goes awry, it gives them something to talk about, so I hope this is all just rolled into part of the show. And the good news is that we were in between the dinner course and the dessert course and dessert is going to be served," said Battalion Chief Thomas Cope with the Fresno Fire Department.

During the chaos, one woman was treated by EMS for a fainting episode.

Firefighters say there is some water damage that ran into the kitchen area, but it didn't stop the show from going on.
