The Fresno Humane Animal Services team put out a video on their Facebook page that is, "a little graphic, I'm going to warn you."
Brenda Mitchell with Fresno Humane Animal Services says a dog named Ceilia was dropped off by a Good Samaritan Monday afternoon. Mitchell says the dog came in with a rope embedded in her neck which is one of the worst things their veterinarian has seen.
After doing some medical work on her, and with some pain medicine and antibiotics Ceilia is doing better.
"It's heartbreaking to see this, but it's much better than it was yesterday at this time," said Mitchell in the Facebook live video.
Mitchell says the dog is at a special location provided by the Animal Compassion Team (ACT) to keep her safe.
Fresno Humane Animal Services says their focus is on education, animal reunification, adoption, and community safety. They're also hopeful people will see the video of Ceilia and want to help their organization with donations.
