FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Central Valley 'Felt the Bern' Sunday and not just the summer-like temperatures.

Senator Bernie Sanders brought out thousands in the Central Valley Sunday with stops in both Visalia and Fresno.

The crowd went wild Saturday night when Sanders walked out on stage at the Fresno Fairgrounds.

The Democratic presidential candidate brought out people like Iqra Kayani who says missing his event was not an option.

"It was surreal," she exclaimed. "Like, I had my friend pinch me."

And it's the same for Andreas Fierro. Who said, for him Senator Sanders represents an opportunity to get ahead.

"Bernie has got a plan," he said. "Bernie is talking about revolution, Bernie is giving you specific about how he is going to pay for education"

But there were some people like Katrina Ruiz who were not so lucky.

She was turned away because the Paul Paul Theatre by 8:00 p.m. the fairground was at full capacity.

"It was upsetting, but I got to hear him so it's better than nothing, but I wish I would've been able to go inside," Ruiz said.

Jennifer Portillo drove four hours from Los Angeles and was also turned away.

"We went to the wrong location," Portillo said. "We didn't know it got changed so we were like where are all the people and then we got here and we couldn't make it so like 'boo.'"

But Jemimah Barba and her friends had the million dollar Bernie Sanders view.

They were on stage, sitting right behind him, and they say it was a moment they will never forget.

"It was very emotional," she said. "Just being behind a man that you really believe in."
