Rain slicked roads cause multiple crashes on freeways in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It has been a busy day so far on the highways with rain-slicked roads and students headed back to class at numerous Valley campuses.

Officials caution there are times the speed limit is too fast for the conditions.

That is what the Highway Patrol said happened Monday morning on the transition ramp from Highway 99 to 180. Around seven a driver said he was going the speed limit when he lost control of their car sliding down the embankment.

The traffic tie-up from the rollover led to another crash involving a car, truck, and van.

CHP said when cars quickly slowed because of the rollover three cars ended up colliding.

No one was hurt in either of the crashes.
