FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Schneider Electric about 45 new layoffs

Officials with Pelco by Schneider Electric in Clovis announced new layoffs Wednesday.

A company spokesperson said less than 45 employees are being let go. The company said the reduction involves several departments within their U.S. and international offices.

Schneider Electric says the action was taken to better match current product development and support requirements. The Valley company makes security cameras and other software.

The last round of layoffs at the Clovis manufacturer took place in 2012 when dozens of employees lost their jobs.

CORRECTION: In earlier reports, ABC30 and ABC30.com reported that 1,200 Pelco by Schneider Electric employees would lose their jobs. Pelco by Schneider Electric employs about 1,200 people and the layoffs would affect less than 45 workers. We apologize for the error.
