1 person dead after crash in Merced County

MERCED COUNTY (KFSN) -- The Highway Patrol is still investigating a crash that left a person dead in the North Valley. It happened just after six Tuesday night at Highway 152 and Flanagan Road-- just east of Dos Palos.

Information from the CHP indicates that one of the cars may have been speeding when the two cars collided sending them both careening off the roadway.

One ended up overturning just over a canal and the other came to rest in a field.

It's not known if anyone else was injured in the crash.
