A soggy start to November-- with the Valley getting some much needed rain.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's time to bust out your umbrellas and jackets as temperatures drop and rain continues to fall across the Valley.

Moderate to heavy showers were moving south through Central California on Monday. Cool temperatures with highs in the low 60's along the Valley floor.

Winter storm warnings were in effect for areas above 7,000 feet north of Kings Canyon. Winter weather advisory were in effect for areas above 7,000feet south of Kings Canyon.

The rain has also made for some difficult driving conditions today. A big rig went off Highway 99 in the Merced area around 9 a.m. Monday. CHP officers say it all started when the driver of a Mustang lost control while going too fast and hydroplaned. He hit one big rig and two cars. An SUV tried to avoid that wreckage and bumped into another big rig, which ended up in a ditch.

Authorities say despite all of the vehicles involved, no one was hurt.
