Deputy Interrupts Abdullah Deliberations

4/24/2008 Fresno, CA Deputy Rodney Zumkehr was called to testify Thursday. He said he entered the jury deliberating room Wednesday afternoon while jurors were inside the courtroom saying they were deadlocked.

The deputy went to use the bathroom inside the deliberating room. When he exited the restroom, the jury had returned to deliberating. The deputy said he excused himself and did not hear any of the discussions.

The judge was satisfied no misconduct occurred.
