Bulldogs Looking Super

The Fresno State diamond 'Dogs now sit one victory away from the unthinkable, advancing to the NCAA super regional.Fresno State, the number 4 seed, earned its second victory in as many days by knocking off San Diego 6-0.

Clayton Allison pitched a complete game 5-hitter to send the Bulldogs into Sunday's regional championship game played in Long Beach.

Tommy Mendonca was the Bulldogs' hitting star, a day after falling hard on his throwing hand and being taken to the hospital for X-rays. The sophomore hit a fourth-inning bases loaded double off the right-field wall to empty the bases and give Allison a 4-0 lead.

Mendonca added a run-scoring single in a two-run sixth for the Bulldogs.

The 'Dogs await the winner of San Diego and Long Beach State.
