Sunday, the nation pauses to remember the 67th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

National News This year's commemoration in Hawaii will focus on what happened in the aftermath of the attack, in which the islands endured three years of martial law.

Waves of Japanese planes damaged or destroyed U.S. warships and planes and killed more than 2,400 people. The next day, the U.S. was at war. Japan surrendered on September 2nd 1945.
