Community Support for a Grieving Family

Atwater, CA /*Jim Paschall*/ took this precious cell phone picture just one day before his 60 year old wife and seven month old grandson died in a devastating car crash that has left the family searching for answers.

Paschall's nine year old and six year old granddaughters were also in the car when his wife Beverly somehow sped through this busy Atwater intersection, hitting several objects and narrowly missing this McDonalds. Paschall says the girls are recovering physically, but he worries about the possible emotional scars.

Now as the family tries to move forward, Paschall is focusing on the positive memories his wife and grandson left behind. Beverly worked as a teacher's aide at John C. Fremont School in Merced for 16 years, and was known for helping at risk students turn their lives around.

Paschall says the community support has been incredible, and he wants to thank everyone who helped his family through their darkest hour ... including several biker groups who stayed at the hospital around the clock to make sure they weren't left alone.

A fundraiser is being held Saturday for the /*Paschall Family*/ Memorial Fund. It's being held from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Almond Tree Restaurant in Atwater.

Tickets are $10.00 each ... and all proceeds are going to the Paschall Memorial Fund at the Wells Fargo Bank.
