Clovis Volunteers Earn Free Disneyland Tickets

CLOVIS, Calif.

The city of Clovis's volunteer program teamed up with Disney's "Give a Day, Get a Day" program, promising Disneyland tickets in exchange for a day of work.

In all, nearly 950 people of all ages registered with "Serve Clovis" to pick up trash and do weed work along the city of Clovis' trail, and now, they're going to Disneyland.

Organizers say the benefits of the Disneyland program will last far beyond today.

"The thing that brought out so many people is of course the Disney tickets, but because of that, now more people are aware of Serve Clovis," said Kathy Hamlin, City of Clovis Volunteer Coordinator.

"Why not bring out the family out for a day and enjoy the sunlight and get everybody to work, and in the end you get something for it. Going to Disneyland isnt such a bad idea," said Jake Ward of Clovis.

Three year old Jayce was among the youngest volunteers along the trail today, and now, he gets to go to Disneyland, too.

It's still not too late to exchange a day of volunteer work for Disney tickets.
