County jailers said minimum security inmates were released due to overcrowding -- all but one were women.

Jailers said with court holidays on Friday and Monday, and a furlough day Wednesday, inmates were still coming in, but none were being processed through the court system.

There are currently 14-hundred beds not being used in the Fresno Jail. However, because jail staff was directed to shut down two floors, they only have enough people to cover the areas currently open.

Thursday the lawsuit /*Sheriff Mims*/ has filed against the County will be heard in Superior Court. Mims is suing over her right to lay off 23 correctional officers and the release of additional inmates.
