65-year-old Charlene McCombs walked away from her home after learning her mother had died. Family members were very concerned because she has a medical condition.
The Merced County Sheriff's Office launched a large search effort with the help of dozens of volunteers. Thursday afternoon -- her own grandson found her alive, lying in an orchard just a few hundred yards from her home.
McCombs was in and out of consciousness when she was found. She's now being treated at A North Valley hospital.
