The fire broke out at 22nd and Grangeville Boulevard, just after 2 a.m. Friday morning. That's east of the Lemoore Naval Air Station and west of Highway 41.

Fire crews say the flames were fueled by old wood from a tree trimming operation as well as eucalyptus trees.

The brushfire spread across 22 acres of land. Investigators are checking to see if a downed power line might have caused the blaze.

Fire officials say they faced challenges because of abandoned cars and other old items that had been dumped on the property. No structures were damaged in the brushfire.

The fire shut down Grangeville Boulevard for a few hours, but it has since reopened.
