Tiffany Amador wore an anti-abortion t-shirt to McSwain Elementary School in Merced two years ago. She claims -- administrators made her take it off. She sued, claiming her first amendment rights were violated.
They settled out of court Thursday with the district agreeing to pay $50 thousand in legal fees. The school district says there was no ruling or judgment that it did anything wrong. Still, Amador -- now 14-years-old says she's been vindicated by the settlement.
McSwain Elementary changed its dress code policy one year ago, to further limit the types of shirts that can be worn at school.
