8-year-old Elora Heasley called 9-1-1 in October when her 5-year-old sister started to have a seizure.

Dispatchers say Elora did a good job keeping calm and communicating the information they needed to send emergency crews to their home.

The girls' father was home, but he was with the younger daughter as the seizure was happening.

Elora's father, Brock Heasley said, "I'm down there in a panic and Elora ... just as calm as she could be ... kinda helped me out a little bit."

Elora adds, "It was a little intense at first but once I knew what I was doing and I got a little used to it ... I was fine."

Officials say they hope Elora's story inspires other children to do the same.

However, they want to remind children that 9-1-1 should only be used for emergencies.
