State inmate crews from Badger were sent to Visalia to repair "Evan's Ditch." The ground became saturated with water -- dangerously close to a power pole.

The workers bolted in sandbags with steel rods near the power pole to keep it safe during future storms.

Public Works Director, Andrew Benelli added, "They'll protect the bank the water won't be able to erode the sandbags away and we've put plastic behind the sandbags and we're stacking them up so it'll be higher than the water level ... and we're going to back fill it with dirt behind it so it'll protect the bank from further erosion."

City workers will also be working to fix hundreds of pot holes across Visalia, after the heavy rain damaged many city streets.
