The officer was heading to a stabbing call at the Fresno Inn -- located just a couple of miles away. He was trying to cross a red light, when another vehicle failed to yield. The officer broadsided that car, which lost control and hit the bicyclist.
Department officials say the bicyclist was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with a leg and shoulder injury. As for the officer and the occupants in the second car -- they did not require any medical attention.
