As Action News has discovered, there's all sorts of treats at the fair and there's something to suit everyone's tastes from unique hotdogs to delicious desserts.

A guest at the Big Fresno Fair, Wednesday night, received a special escort from a group of firefighters.

Shaela Warkentin, 16, was escorted by a group of first responders who are close to her heart. The men of engine crew eleven were the first ones on scene in March when a driver slammed into the car she was riding in. She lost her sight as a result of injuries from the accident.

This was the first time she's been re-united with the firefighters that worked for over an hour to get her out. "It's nice meeting them and talking to them. It's cool knowing that they would spend a fun night with my family," said Shaela.

"It's an honor to see that Shaela has made a good recovery, she's in good spirits."

Shaela's trip to the fair is a part of the "Firefighters Creating Memories" program. For 18 years Fresno Firefighters have escorted kids with disabilities around the fair.
