Investigators say Chris Alvarez, 23, forced his way into the home of the victim last week -- after they exchanged information over a social networking website. They say Alvarez bound and then sexually assaulted the victim.
Alvarez allegedly also pepper sprayed the victim at one point, and then left the home with several stolen items.
Tuesday authorities tracked down Alvarez and made the arrest. They say they also found the stolen property.
Investigators believe he may also be responsible for similar crimes in the area.
