The event pays tribute to the tireless efforts of outstanding special education teachers in the Central Valley. It's called the Carolyn Dobbs Special Education Teacher or Leader Of The Year award.
Carolyn Dobbs died earlier this year at the age of 99 after spending her life working with special educators.
This year's winner is Donald Rotella of Fresno Unified. He's the first man to win the award in the seven years it's been given.
