41-year-old James Hooker was arrested last week and charged with sexually abusing a minor in an unrelated case from 1998.
Hooker resigned from his teaching post at Enochs High School in February and moved in with Jordan Powers, an 18-year-old student.
On Friday, Hooker was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old student in 1998 when he taught at Davis High School in Modesto.
On Tuesday a judge ordered Hooker to surrender his passport. He remains free on $50,000 dollars bail.
