The chase started on Monday at Highway 99 and Mountain View, and came to a end near the Highway 99 and Highway 41 interchange in Downtown Fresno.
The CHP said an officer spotted the driver going well above the speed limit on Highway 99. The officer started to chase the speeding driver, who reportedly refused to pull over, but slowed down to about 60 miles per hour. Another officer waited at the 99 and 41 interchange with a spike strip, but the driver stopped short of hitting the spikes.
The suspect was arrested. Officers say they don't believe he was drinking, and haven't found anything suspicious in his car.
