The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced new loans of up to $35-thousand. The loans are designed to give a boost to family-run farms or help those who want to start one.

The micro-loans can help beginning farmers cover start-up costs for seeds, tools and different machines. The ag department says obtaining these loans will be easier than getting traditional farm loans.
