Lithia Motors Talent Acquisition Manager Alisa Sipes said, "But this is an event that we have on the spot interviews with managers with recruiters and you definitely can be hired on the spot within the day."
This is the second annual hiring event. The fair itself drew a range of experienced candidates.
Frank Aguilera was one of the job applicants that showed up early for a chance to get a job. He has prior experience in the automotive industry.
Aguilera said, "With such a big facility that they have here, they most have positions galore."
Locally, the company is hiring as many as 20 positions with a variety of jobs from sales to service to parts. The open positions are all thanks to consumers. After a downturn in the economy, Lithia says they are seeing positive signs.
"It's growing, the business is getting busy again," said Sipes. "The automotive business is doing very well. Our Lithia stores here in Fresno we sell over 500 cars a month and that's continuing to get better."
Lithia says they are now heading into their busiest months of the year and will need that extra workforce. And that's good news for job seekers looking for steady work and a paycheck.
Job fair organizers hope to hire people within the coming months and if others are interested they say you can always apply online. With a changing economy, they never know what jobs they'll be hiring for in the future.
The job fair at Lithia Mazda runs until 6:00 Thursday evening.
