FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Around 11:00 a.m. Monday crews received a call about an apartment fire in Central Fresno.
When firefighters arrived at the complex on Marks and Dakota they found heavy fire coming from a first floor apartment. Flames then quickly spread into the attic of a second building nearby.
"And when that happens we have to pull ceilings, we have to cover up properties, and try and protect everybody's belongings and that requires a large amount of folks to do that, and on a hot day like today, it requires even more," said Dept. Chief Todd Tuggle, Fresno Fire Department.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation it may have started while someone was cooking.
No one was injured but flames severely damaged two units and as many as 30 people may be displaced because of the damage to the second building.
