Eischen died in his sleep at Bagram Air Base on Christmas Eve.
His family won't know what caused his death for at least six weeks until the investigation is complete.
Eischen's funeral service took place at New Hope Church in Clovis.
He will then be buried with full military honors at Clovis Cemetery.
