High Speed Motorcycle Chase through 2 Counties

3/11/2008 Fresno The chase ended on Highway 145 near Road 36 on late Tuesday night. The CHP says the drove over 130 miles-an-hour trying to catch the cyclist who eventually ditched his bike and tried to run off.

He was caught a short time later. Officers say a woman was a passenger on the bike and was almost thrown off during the chase. She was not arrested.

The CHP said Fresno Police had initially tried to pull over the man for running a red light at Abby and Belmont in central Fresno. But he drove off and the CHP and their helicopter took over the pursuit.
