Top Ten Professional Women

Fresno, CA, USA It was the Silver Anniversary of the event. Past winners over the past 25 years were honored for their service. Women like Yami Rodriguez beamed with pride. The ten women were honored for their tireless work to the community.

Poverello House Admin. Dir. Doreen Eley said, "Oh it is such an honor, a humbling experience. I love the Marjorie Mason Center. I used to work there. Just to be honored by them as one of their top 10 is fabulous."

The Marjorie Mason Center serves victims of domestic violence...and sees these women as positive role models. Judge Denise Whitehead helped establish the juvenile behavioral court. She got the chance to smile today. While Dr. Gail Newel founded the Fresno Women's Medical Group.

Belmont Nursery Owner Connie Reelhorn said, "I believe it is kind of a sorority now of past winners. We've met good friends and we've really only had a few contacts. I'm truly blessed."

Reelhorn joined other honorees such as Clovis Police Chief Janet Davis ... who became the first female chief of police in Clovis. A crowd of 850 people packed the Valdez Exhibit Hall in downtown Fresno. They heard how Marty Flaming and her husband turned a fruit container idea into a business 30 years ago.
