Lemoore Plans to Reduce Arsenic in Water Supply

The system will blend two types of water, one with higher levels of arsenic with a well that has very low levels of arsenic. City officials said the project will reduce arsenic levels overall, and finally meet federal standards.

Public Works Director David Wlaschin said, "You can't taste it you don't know it's in the water but it is a carcinogen and the federal government has deemed it needs to be moved down to a level of 10."

City officials also hope the project will help clear up a brown water problem in a Southwest Lemoore neighborhood.
