Police ID'd man beaten to death in Central Fresno

Investigators say 24-year-old Sonny Armando Vindiola had serious injuries to his head and body.

Someone found him lying on the sidewalk in central Fresno, at San Pablo near Belmont. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

Police say the murder is gang-related. Officers are now working to contact other gang members, hoping to stop any retaliation before it starts.

This is the third murder in Fresno this year, compared to eight at this time last year.
