Woman shot in Merced after disturbance calls

It happened in the area of HWY 59 near 16th Street in Merced-- where officers had responded twice already.

Investigators say a 20-year-old was shot in the lower abdomen and the shooting is related to the earlier disturbance calls.

The victim has been taken to a Modesto hospital and her condition is not known.

Merced police have not yet made any arrests.
