FRESNO, Calif.

Mexico had imposed tariffs on many California-grown commodities after the US government stopped a program allowing Mexican trucks to operate in the US.

The dispute has since been resolved, meaning the cost to export many California crops to Mexico will soon decrease.

The California table grape commission reports Mexico's tariff had been as high as 45 percent.

The USDA looked at a program that provides produce to elementary school students across the nation.

The government found children participating in the program ate 10 percent more fresh fruits and vegetables than those who didn't participate.
