The crash happened just after 1:30 Sunday afternoon near the Four Lane. Witnesses say the woman suddenly veered off the road, and down a steep embankment. Her car then caught on fire.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office say the woman somehow managed to get back to the top of the hill -- and the person who helped her left the scene before officers arrived. She was taken to a hospital to be checked out.
Investigators say the cause of the crash is under investigation.
