The sporadic rain throughout California is helping some crops, but also hurting others.

According to the California crop weather report, grains are showing good growth and steady development in parts of the state receiving rain and irrigation. But the lack of moisture in other parts is slowing crop development.

The weather is forcing some producers in Tulare County to start early summer vegetables in greenhouses. However, things are looking good in Stanislaus County, where asparagus, lettuce, kale and spinach are growing well.
