Congress has passed a bill to avoid the "milk cliff" which would have doubled milk prices.

Lawmakers agreed to extend portions of the 2008 Farm Bill through September. The extension would keep milk prices from potentially doubling to seven dollars a gallon, but it will allow other portions of the bill to expire -- including energy provisions and disaster aid for farmers.
