Habitat for Humanity of Fresno County surprised these families today with news that they've been chosen for new homes.

Each of the recipients went through a selection process that includes interviews and income qualification.

They'll now put at least 500 hours into helping build their homes and their neighbors.

The three houses are going up next to one another in the rialto ranch subdivision in Clovis.

Tony Miranda of Habitat for Humanity said, "Families are much more inclined to be invested if they work closely like that with their neighbors, so it's just a great opportunity."

Construction is expected to get underway next week and be finished by the end of the summer.
