100 new trees are now growing at a Fresno park

FRESNO, Calif.

The city bought them with a grant from the State Department of Transportation.

Officials say the trees will help improve the environment in more ways than one.

Fresno PARCS grant writer Irma Yepez-Perez said, "Because of the proximity to Highway 180 & 41 it's very important to help again… the air quality and sound is community."

The Romain Neighborhood Center re-opened to the public last summer after undergoing renovations including improvements to the basketball courts and a new playground.
