Joel Valera, 37, is booked in the Fresno County Jail on homicide charges.
Fresno County Sheriff's deputies say Valera shot Arthur Gomez at his home near South A Avenue and Seventh Street on Friday afternoon. The 39-year-old victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
Detectives served a search warrant at Valera's house next door and found guns they believe were used in the shooting. The motive for the crime is still under investigation.
