Investigation underway after body discovered in Merced

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man was found dead Saturday afternoon near 16th street and Bear Creek in Merced.

Investigators say a resident was crossing a bridge when they noticed the body floating.

Authorities tell Action News there were no obvious signs for the cause of death and right now they are working to identify him.

The man was taken to the coroner's office where an autopsy will be performed.
