Man shot during attempted robbery in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are investigating an attempted robbery and shooting in Central Fresno. The 19-year-old male victim was found on a mattress outside a home on Clark Street and Clay Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. Friday.

The victim told the suspect he had no money. That's when the suspect pulled out a handgun and struck the victim in the head with it, shot the victim in the leg and then ran. The victim's injuries are not life-threatening.
