FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Fresno Firefighter is recovering after he was hurt while responding to a house fire.
The department shared a photo on Instagram Sunday, showing the firefighter in a cast.
Firefighter Bertrand seems to be in good spirits despite the crutches. Officials say he was helping to put out a small fire at a vacant home on B Street near Whitesbridge Avenue around 11 p.m. Saturday night. But he suffered a broken ankle after stepping off a porch into some weeds.
His fellow firefighters quickly contained the flames.
