FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Not only is it a new season, but a new a chapter for the team. This will be the Grizzlies first year as the AAA affiliate of the Houston Astros.
The Grizzlies take on the Las Vegas 51s on Thursday night's game. The fun starts at 4 pm with a pre-game street festival.
It's going to be an all afternoon celebration to kick off the start of baseball season. The community is encouraged to come out. Starting at 4:00 p.m. Fans can check out Home Run Alley (at the Fulton mall gate) or H Street where live music, carnival games, pony rides, Knights of the Shield skills challenges and vendor booths will be set up.
Then inside the stadium, the entertainment begins at 6:25 p.m. with the Fresno Noco Dance Collective aerial performers, mascot Parker T. Bear's triumphant return from Valley Children's Hospital, and a special uniform patch ceremony. The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. After the game, the downtown sky will light up with fireworks.
